Two Fox Lane sports teams, football and girls soccer, are off to fast starts.
The girls soccer team has won all three of their games so far with victories over Carmel, Pleasantville and John Jay. The team, with Kate Burbank in goal, has yet to give up a goal this year. The team was picked to be one of the best in the county and they are fulfilling the projections. The scoring has been evenly distributed with five players scoring the team’s seven goals. Their next home game is on Thursday at 4:30 against Rye High School.
For the football team, Coach Broggy is doing another masterful coaching job. The team has a lot of speed and in their victories over Carmel and Mamaroneck, the team scored on long runs, passes and even a punt return. Their next game is on Friday at Yorktown High School at 7:00 against the Yorktown Huskers, a local rival that needs to be beaten. The game will be televised on MSG Varsity and there will be a large crowd at the game. Fox Lane will need all their fans to give the team support.
