On Saturday, September 25, 2010, the parish of St. Francis of Assisi in Mount Kisco gathered to celebrate Fr. Steven Clark’s 20th anniversary of ordination to the priesthood.
Father Clark arrived at St. Francis of Assisi in 2005 and has served as pastor for the past five years. He arrived at St. Francis after serving parishes in Yonkers and Peekskill. Father Clark became a priest after graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy. After graduation from the Naval Academy, he flew helicopters as part of the Marine Corps. As Mayor Michael Cindrich noted, the diocese could not identify another priest that was both a marine and a pastor.
At the celebration, Father Clark was “roasted” by former Mount Kisco Judge Henry Kensing who was the master of ceremonies for the evening. Father Clark also received proclamations from Mount Kisco Mayor Michael Cindrich and Fire Department Chief Michael Boles.
Father Clark has served St. Francis of Assisi Church and Mount Kisco well. Under his leadership, there are more family masses and activities and the church has undergone structural improvements. In addition to the regular mass schedule, St. Francis of Assisi hosts masses in Spanish and Ukrainian. As noted by MKFD Chief Boles and Mayor Cindrich, he is always available to help the fire department and the village.
Congratulations to Father Clark and best wishes for the future.
