On Wednesday, June 15, as many in Mount Kisco were waking up or commuting to their jobs from Mount Kisco’s Metro North station, the Mount Kisco Fire Department was hard at work extinguishing a blaze at 90 Lexington Avenue, one of Mount Kisco’s houses behind a house.
The Mount Kisco Fire Department received the call after 6:00 am and responded quickly. By the time the call was made, however, the fire had advanced significantly. As the pictures show below, the Mount Kisco Fire Department, as always, was able to professionally and efficiently extinguish the fire. Unfortunately, there have been too many house fires in Mount Kisco. Many of the fires may, in part, may be a result of Mount Kisco’s lack of a Code Enforcement Officer. The reasons for this fire are currently undisclosed.
Once more, thank you to the Mount Kisco Fire Department and the fire departments from Bedford Hills, Chappaqua and Katonah that responded to offer aid. Also, thanks to the Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps for attending to the injured and responding quickly to the scene.
Thank you to Richard Hooker for use of his photographs.
