The 9-11 Memorial planned, built and financed by volunteers from the Mount Kisco Fire Department is making steady progress. As planned, the two slabs of black granite to symbolize the World Trade Center towers have been installed in the middle of the framework for the pentangular pool to memorialize the victims of the attack on the Pentagon.
The 9-11 Memorial is being built by volunteers in the construction and pool businesses with manpower from the MKFD. Volunteers from the MKFD have raised over 80% of their $120,000 goal and are looking for money from individuals and local businesses. The dedication has been set for Sunday, September 11, the 10th anniversary of the attacks.
