Father William Damroth, officially the Administrator of St. Francis of Assisi in Mount Kisco said goodbye to parishioners as he has now become the pastor of the similarly named church in Newburgh.
In a short period of time, Father Bill made an impact at St. Francis. In his own words, he worked to build “partnerships for those spiritual connections we all need.” He brought St. Francis closer to the Mount Kisco community by joining the Food Pantry at the United Methodist Church building the ties established by the church’s participation in the Emergency Shelter Partnership.
Father Bill also added masses to the church’s schedule, including a Sunday night mass at 5:30 for the youth of the parish. Father Bill reached out to all groups in the diverse parish. At his last mass, the youth mass last Sunday, Father Bill asked the parishioners, especially the young people, to show courage in their lives.
