Mt. Kisco Fire Department Extinguishes Brush Fire; One Among Many Calls

On Wednesday, April 7, 2010, Mount Kisco firefighters extinguished a small brush fire on the west side of the railroad tracks near Maple Avenue. With the first warm temperatures of the year, it is not uncommon to have brush fires as a cigarette thrown into dry leaves can ignite a fire. The west side of the tracks in Mount Kisco is never raked by the MTA nor are dead branches removed.

The Mount Kisco Fire Department remains busy. In March, the Mount Kisco Fire Department had 49 calls. In the year ended March 31, 2010, the MKFD responded to 519 calls.

Please properly maintain your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to eliminate false alarms.
