Sports Authority Donates Defibrillator to MKLL; Clinic on August 1

The Sports Authority has made a donation of 75 heart guards and a portable Automated External Defibrillator (“AED”) to the Mount Kisco Little League.

On August 1, the store is sponsoring an ‘in service’ clinic to review safety measures in case of an emergency on the field. The clinic will be held on Monday, August 1 at the White Plains store at 60 South Broadway at 7:00 pm. There will be 20% discount coupons and an iPad door prize to encourage people to attend.

The Mount Kisco Little League is hoping for a large turnout at the clinic to show its appreciation and encourage Sports Authority to expand the AED placement program to additional Little League programs. As many have learned recently, this program can be a life saver.

I just shared this story with friends who lost their brother to sudden death from long QT. They were thrilled to hear of the efforts MKLL and Sports Authority are doing together to increase heart safety for young athletes.

In fact, they told me they are going to go as a family and get defibrillator training.

    Great job !
